Get the Grapevine App - Free!
February 23rd, 2010
Here is a big idea that I want you to be first to know about.
GrapeVine is a mobile app that's good for wine drinkers and good for the wine industry. GrapeVine is first to be designed for the younger wine drinker, focusing on personal recommendations and making it comfortable to talk about wine. Thousands of people have joined them on facebook before the app has even launched!
WineAndHospitalityNetwork.com has a chance to make the app free for our members. All you have to do is
Become a Fan http://facebook.com/grapevineapp
Why?
GrapeVine is offering a free co-branded program on top of it all.
I've formed a strategic partnership with the folks at GrapeVine so that our whole network can connect on this mobile app for free. In the spring, you will be able to invite your customers to meet you on GrapeVine and they’ll see your name, logo and custom content.
I’d like GrapeVine to launch for free, so I’ve said our network can help them make it happen.
If 5,000 of our members become GrapeVine fans the app will launch for free!
A fair trade I’d say. Let’s show them our support please.
Stay tuned for more info as the app launches in iTunes.

2010 Wine Entrepreneur Conference: Are You Attending?
December 31st, 2009
Are you an Entrepreneur?
Wine Hospitality Network is a partner of the 2010 Wine Entrepreneur Conference, which will take place in Washington DC on January 21 & 22, 2010. Hosted by the Argentinean and Chilean embassies, the event will feature a dozen discussion panels, keynote luncheons and networking events where wine entrepreneurs will meet and share about new business models that fulfill their passion for wine.
The conference, the first ever to focus exclusively on wine entrepreneurship, will also be an opportunity for wine entrepreneurs - at various stages of their projects - to learn from some of the most forward-thinking professionals of the wine industry. On both days, panels will feature innovative wine entrepreneurs who were able to follow their passion for wine AND leverage tools such as the internet & social media, alternative financing techniques, innovative design, socially conscious philosophies, a recycling cap, out-of-the-box business models or a combination thereof.
Well known venture capitalist Jon Staenberg will present at the conference. “I am honored to participate to the 2010 Wine Entrepreneur Conference and to share my insights about being both an investor and an entrepreneur in the wine business. I also look forward to meeting fellow wine entrepreneurs and discussing the changing wine industry paradigm It is these kind of conferences that make the industry stronger” he said
Luncheon keynote speaker Jean-Charles Boisset, president of Boisset Family Estates described the conference as an opportunity to share success stories. “I look forward to contributing to the conference by explaining how wine entrepreneurs can blend old world rules with new world business models. At Boisset Family Estates, it translates in particular by combining organic/biodynamic farming with innovative and eco-friendly packaging. The wine industry has a great future and the wine entrepreneur conference is a wonderful opportunity to step back for a minute and investigate that future with other forward-thinking entrepreneurs,” he said. For more information about the conference and to discover the impressive lineup of speakers, go to

Recruiting tip:
One of the trade secrets of recruiters is to find passive candidates by searching for resumes that are 2 - 4 years old. Often those candidates are now ready for their next move (even if they are not yet actively looking). A great way to snap up a top performer before they are actively on the market.
